First, the obvious. If your first language is English, you will most likely be able to understand what I say. With all due respect to the many thousands of tech support workers overseas, the vast majority of which do a fine job, the "Off-Shoring" of what seems to be the majority of American corporate support work has created a need for support which has NOT been "Off-Shored". I am simply attempting to fill that need.

Zero Minutes on Hold! Simply leave a message and I will call you back at a time of your choosing. No, that is not the way they do it at MegaCorp Support Corporation. In fact, it sometimes leads to a game of phone tag. My clients still agree, however, that this is better than interminable minutes/hours on hold.

Different Goals. We have all spent enough time dealing with the big corporations to know that their primary goal is to get as much of our money as they can today, and repeat the process tomorrow. My goal is to build a small base of clients and keep them for many years. Making as much as I possibly can off of you today would be counter-productive.

I don't start the clock the minute you pick up the phone. This one is part of the previous one, too. Sometimes, I am just going to be unable to help you, or able to help to only a small degree. In those cases, charges will be adjusted accordingly. And I certainly will not charge for a round of phone tag.

There is a vast difference between a multi-million dollar corporation and a one man shop. You will need to decide which is more appropriate for your situation. As with most decisions, each comes with trade-offs that must be considered. I know there will be times when a potential client needs someone on the phone immediately. There will be times when I will miss those opportunities. This service will not be perfect for all situations. But that, too, is good. There is only one of me, and only 24 hours in each day. Someone else will need to handle some of the work. :)
